Description: | Aims: * To equip students with the skills to use and interpret advanced multivariate statistics * To provide an appreciation of the applications of advanced multivariate analysis in health and medicine. Learning Outcomes: On completion of this unit, students will * Learn and understand how and why selected advanced multivariate analyses are computed. * Practice conducting, interpreting and reporting analyses. Skills: Intellectual * To learn independently * To critically evaluate and assess research and evidence as well as a variety of other information * To utilise problem solving skills Professional / Practical * Advanced information technology and computing technology (e.g. SPSS) * Independent working skills * Advanced numeracy skills. Content: Introduction to power and sample size, multidimensional scaling, logistic regression, meta-analysis, structural equation modelling. |
