Description: | Aims: The unit aims to provide students with an introduction to the basic concepts in modern econometric theory and to software packages that may be used to conduct econometric analysis. Learning Outcomes: At the end of the unit students will be expected to be able to: a) prove convergence results using laws of large numbers and the central limit theorem; b) use and interpret the results of the econometric models; c) test the validity of the empirical models using a wide range of diagnostic tools; d) use econometric software to perform basic empirical analysis.
