![]() | Aims: This course is intended to introduce students to the use of CAD software in the construction industry and to develop skills using AutoCAD. Learning Outcomes: By the end of the course students should be able to use AutoCAD to construct 2D drawings of their design projects and to present this information in a variety of ways. Skills: The skills required in AutoCAD are: creating basic drawing elements; editing and manipulation of those elements; adding text, dimensions and hatching; understanding the user co-ordinate system; plotting using linewieghts; use of external referencing; drawing and file organisation including layers Content: Topics will include the creation of basic 2D drawing elements in AutoCAD and the creation of a 2D design file based on the Design Studio project. 3D modelling in Sketchup and 2D image manipulation in Photoshop will also be included. |
