Description: | Aims: This unit will introduce you to:
* the development and application methods used to carry out material and energy balances, reaction engineering, separations processes, fluid flow, mass transfer and heat transfer for a range of chemical or biochemical engineering processes
* how these subjects are integrated in process design and analysis.
Learning Outcomes: After successfully completing this unit, you will be able to:
* Construct mass and energy balances for a given chemical process and unit operations;
* Apply empirical correlations and approximate methods to solve chemical engineering problems;
* Describe the principles of batch and continuous operations and indicate which is most appropriate in a given application.
