Description: | Aims: * To enhance the production of authentic and accurate written and spoken French; * To consolidate students' knowledge of more complex grammatical structures; * To apply advanced skills to the production of a variety of French texts; * To build on the communication skills acquired in Year 1; * To improve oral proficiency and aural comprehension. Learning Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to: * Manipulate a broad range of lexis, grammatical structures and syntax; * Apply accurate and advanced written and spoken communicative skills; * Demonstrate sound awareness of style and linguistic register; * Show cultural awareness. Skills: Precision and creativity in the use of written and spoken language; * Effective communication in the target language; * Independent learning strategies; * Adaptation to life in the target countries (preparation for year abroad). * Employability and transferable skills Content: Written language: * Selected advanced grammar points, essay writing techniques, summary and creative writing, CV and cover letters. Spoken language: * Audio-visual material, presentations, debates, role plays, conversation, interview techniques. |
