Description: Aims:
To:
* Provide an overview on administrative processes within companies and authorities to conform with environmental legislation and compliance
* Learn and use state-of the art environmental management, analysis, compliance and modelling software.

Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this unit the student will be able to:
* Explain environmental regulatory legislation and regulatory frameworks
* Compare and contrast command and control legislation with modern alternatives, analyse breaches of statutory duty, describe the role of environmental assessment in the planning process, and prepare an IPPC authorisation for a simple process.
* Recognise data management and environmental data management systems.

* Introduction to project management for engineering and environmental management
* Environmental law, legislation and regulatory frameworks from corporate and public authorities viewpoint
* Development of environmental legal framework
* Classification and types of law and history of law
* Compliance: conforming to environmental laws, regulations, standards and other requirements, including current examples
* General data management in businesses
* Environmental data management in businesses:
* Air emissions management, water quality management, waste management, assets and compliance tracking systems
* Environmental management software
* Compliance software
* Environmental analysis software
* Environmental modelling software.
