Aims: | To develop a solid foundation in the theory and practice of artificial intelligence (AI).

Learning Outcomes: | On completion of the unit, the students will be able to:
1. appreciate AI as a mechanism to deal with computationally hard problems in a practical manner;
2. demonstrate understanding of fundamental concepts of AI and put them into practice.

Content: | Topics covered by this unit will typically include probabilistic reasoning, graphical models, sequential decision making under uncertainty, reinforcement learning, logical representation and reasoning (e.g. first-order logic), logic programming, constraint satisfaction, and planning.
