Aims: | This unit aims to:
* introduce students to both the theory underpinning sports nutrition and also gain the ability to apply the concept of dietary analysis; to pre, during and post training nutritional intake. |
Learning Outcomes: | At the end of this unit students will be able to:
* Demonstrate an understanding of basic energy expenditure and nutritional analysis * Understand the function of major macronutrients and micronutrients in the context of sports activity and lifestyle; * Understand principles and practice of dehydration / rehydration; * Demonstrate an appreciation of eating disorders. |
