Aims: | To establish comprehension of the human neuro-musculo-skeletal system, how it generates and controls movement, and how that movement is measured. |
Content: | Musculoskeletal consideration for movement:
* Anatomical and functional characteristics of upper and lower limb. * Description of movements, planes and axes of actions * Relationship of muscular system to skeletal system in normal movements, enhanced performance, and clinical conditions Neuromuscular consideration for movement: * Skeletal muscle, principle of muscle architecture and function, determinants of muscle force production * Neuromuscular structure and function of the central and peripheral nervous system, including reflexes and receptors. Biomechanical bases of human movement: * Principles of linear and angular kinematics * Introduction to linear kinetics Basic techniques for describing human movement: * Qualitative and quantitative description of normal movements, enhanced performance, and clinical conditions. |
