Content: | In applying socio/psychological theoretical knowledge to the practices of health and physical activity, students will critically engage with the discursive construction of the physically active bodyaround the following key topics:
* Moral Panic and contemporary health problems, * The discursive constitution of the (un)healthy and (in)active body * Health, the body and Schooling * Public pedagogies and mediatised health * Disordered and (dis)abled bodies, Engagement with broader cultural artefacts such as art, literature, film, cyberculture will be encouraged to augment learning. |
