On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
* Demonstrate a good understanding of the major ideas and debates that inform the study of people in organisations. * Begin to critically analyse key concepts and issues at an individual, group and organisational level. * Gain an appreciation of the specific context and setting within which organisational behaviour takes place. |
Synopsis: | Gain introductory knowledge of the study of organisational behaviour and people management, including aspects of leadership.
You'll examine the different ways we can look at an organisation from an individual, group and organisational level. Throughout the unit, youll develop a critical understanding of organisational behaviour, as well as aspects of leadership and people management. |
Content: | The unit will cover key concepts and issues in understanding and managing people in organisations. Themes covered will include key micro and macro theoretical perspectives on organisational behaviour and people management, and will touch upon issues related to leadership, power, culture, ethics, and conflict. |
