After successfully completing this unit, you will be able to:
* Compare the principles of batch and continuous operations and choose which is the most appropriate for a given process; * Recognize and identify the principle hazard sources in chemical and related processes; * Plan, manage and organise team activities to achieve session outcomes; * Begin to exercise initiative and personal responsibility. |
Aims: | You will be introduced to the basic engineering experimentation skills, carry out risk assessment of apparatus and hazardous substances, instrumentation and simple control systems required in the chemical and biochemical engineering industries, enhance your abilities to interpret and present technical information. You will work in teams to develop potential solutions to real-life engineering problems such as energy conservation and waste treatment. |
