Requisites:
Learning Outcomes: On completion of this unit, you will be able to:
1. Apply engineering or scientific principles in the design and modelling of an automotive propulsion system
2. Define targets and verification metrics and cascade these to different system levels
3. Validate proposed solutions against design criteria in the presence of uncertainty and incomplete data
4. Solve a complex open-ended design and implementation problem relating to automotive propulsion
5. Work within a diverse team, leveraging your own and others skills to the benefit of the project.
6. Recognise ethical and sustainability considerations and embed solutions to these within propulsion system designs
7. Communicate complex information clearly in both written and oral format.


Synopsis: Combine design and analysis activities as well as practical-based modelling and laboratory sessions. Put into practice knowledge learnt in other units and develop your team working and engineering technology skills.
You will be presented with an open-ended problem for which you will need to deliver a solution in the form of a proposed vehicle system with a propulsion theme.
