Students who successfully complete the unit will be able to:
- Plan, design and execute a small-scale research project.
- Identify a topic and develop a research question that is of strategic relevance to entrepreneurial management.
- Evaluate, and synthesize literature to critically discuss theories, practices, and policies in relation to the chosen topic.
- Compare, contrast, and apply suitable research methods to collect data.
- Analyse data in a systematic way as appropriate to the chosen methods.
- Present findings in a logical and coherent manner.
- Draw conclusions from research and provide recommendations and/or policy insights.
- Write up the research to communicate ideas in a clear and structured way.
- Work independently to show adaptability, responsibility, and awareness of managing a research project.

Synopsis: | Research a topic in detail. You will be able to focus on either an academic research question(s) or a practical challenge. Your analysis might be based on primary data, secondary data or a synthesis of existing literature. You'll produce recommendations for theory and/or practice.

Content: | A supervisor will be allocated to provide guidance on the research process, including directions on preparing a proposal, reviewing literature, and designing a methodology. Detailed guidance will also be provided on the expectations on student and supervisor roles during the dissertation phase.
