After taking this unit, you will be able to:
* Demonstrate broad knowledge gained from current literature to compare the molecular, genetic and micro-environmental differences between cancer and normal tissues.
* Interpret and analyse data from cutting-edge research publications in cancer genetics and therapy.
* Acquire practical knowledge of drug discovery using cancer cells in culture.

| Content: | Molecular hallmarks of cancer. The role of oncogenes, tumour suppressor genes, the non-coding genome, the immune system, apoptosis, angiogenesis, metastasis among others, and link these to cancer therapeutic targets.
