At the end of the unit the student will be able to:
1. demonstrate an ability to work as part of a small team 2. generate original data 3. individually analyse the data appropriately and to present it and relevant conclusions in written form. |
Aims: | The aim of this unit is to allow BSc students who have not previously undertaken a laboratory-based placement to develop practical research skills; analytical and presentational skills. Students will work within a small group in the laboratory to design and carry out scientific investigations. |

Content: | Small groups of students will be offered a choice of research project from a wide range of topics in pharmacology. Students will design experiments and carry out experimental investigations in the laboratory to generate data. They will analyse and present their data in an extended laboratory report. |
