Learning Outcomes: By the end of the unit students will be able to: 1. Outline and explore processes of social change, their drivers and impacts 2. Critically examine the-isations and -isms that are created and used in social science to understand processes of social change 3. Identify concrete ways in which the processes of social change shape their lives


Synopsis: Examine the factors that shape social change, the impact of social change, and how social scientists have attempted to understand social change with the creation of `-isations and `-isms. Underpinned by theoretical perspectives throughout, the unit is responsive to the political, economic and social issues and agendas of the day, to ensure that you can see how current social changes are influencing, shaping and defining your life and the world in which you live.
