You will also apply key concepts from educational psychology to educational practice and experience.

Content: The unit explores the relationship between psychology and education from two perspectives. The first part of the unit adopts a more traditional, applied focus on educational psychology in practice. In this part of the unit, students will focus on core ideas, theories, and concepts commonly employed in educational psychology. They will also be introduced to common learning-related disorders and difficulties. The second part of the unit adopts a critical psychology lens to explore the connections between psychology and education on another level. Students will critically explore how educational policies can be seen to impact people psychologically and emotionally and will critique education policy from this angle. They will also explore how psychology has contributed to injustices in the current education system.
