Aims: | The aim of this unit is to examine, at an advanced and specialised level, key issues, concepts, debates, methods, and career pathways in sport and exercise psychology. |
Content: | Theory and key concepts in sport, exercise, and health psychology (e.g., self-determination theory, social identity theory, motivation, resilience, group dynamics); sport, exercise, and health psychology research and scholarship; contemporary issues and case studies in sport, exercise, and health psychology (e.g., eating disorders, adversity, retirement, exercise prescription); equality and inclusivity in the context of sport, exercise, and health psychology; physical activity and wellbeing; mental health; athlete and team performance; ethics and psychology; psychological skills for sport psychologists; sport and exercise psychology career and study pathways. |
