Learning Outcomes: By the end of the module you will be able to:
  • Demonstrate knowledge of data science techniques.
  • Use R for data visualization and wrangling.
  • Show awareness of the applications of these methods.
  • Understand the mathematical models underlying spatial data and text data.
  • Apply these methods in R to analyse large-scale complex data sets.



Synopsis: You will explore methods for understanding large data sets, using data visualization, data wrangling and tools for spatial and text data analysis. The unit will draw on data sets from a variety of applications and use R to explore the data-analysis techniques.
