- Like-for-like reassessment (where allowed by programme regulations)
|
Requisites: |
Before or while taking this module you must take PH22006 AND take PH22007
|
Learning Outcomes: |
While taking this unit the student should be able to:
demonstrate an understanding of a compiled programming language such as C++ and use it to solve scientific problems;
use a range of data modelling techniques to analyse and visualise astrophysical 'big-data' sets and draw evidence-based conclusions;
apply a range of different strategies for solving open-ended scientific problems within data-analysis and computational projects.
|
Synopsis: | You will advance your physics skills in particular areas, providing a platform for your extended project work in later years. You will learn a high-level, compiled programming language such as C++ and use this to solve scientific problems. You will use a range of data modelling techniques to analyse and visualise astrophysical big-data sets and learn how to draw evidence-based conclusions from this.
