By engaging with original materials (text, audio and video), you will learn to identify and use advanced grammatical structures. This will broaden your vocabulary, and develop your understanding of a wide variety of cultural, social and political contexts.

Content: Building on the skills and knowledge acquired during the first year, this unit continues the intensive development of linguistic skills and awareness. Covering a broad range of topics relevant to the context of the culture and language studied, there is a particular focus on preparing students for their study/placement abroad. All four skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) are practiced and worked on, as well as aspects of translation and mediation.
