Learning Outcomes: By the end of the unit, you will:
  • Develop skills required as autonomous researchers and for teamwork.

  • Learn about the placement setting in which you have been placed.
  • Develop reflective skills to enable you to thoughtfully consider what you have learned from your placement and how you may use these new skills, knowledge and experience in future study or employment.
  • Develop skills in the areas of problem-based learning, communication, time management, administration and presentation.



Synopsis: Your placement will give you the opportunity to enhance your skills as a scientist-practitioner. You'll work closely with a professional in a health-related setting on a 16 week placement.

Content: You will work alongside a professional in a health-related setting, where you will take part in the daily life of the institution where you work, participate in meetings with other professionals and clients, involve yourselves in on-going projects and undertake a research project that is analysed and presented as a dissertation.
