Requisites:
Learning Outcomes: Locate, critically evaluate and utilise evidence from published sources to enhance evidence-based practice through application to clinical reasoning and professional judgement.

Identify and appraise appropriate information needed to make safe and logical decisions when answering medicines-related questions, using an efficient and systematic approach to formulate a concise answer appropriate to the recipient.

Critically evaluate the evidence base and apply clinical reasoning and professional judgement to the management of atrial fibrillation (AF), stroke and transient ischaemic attack (TIA).


Aims: To increase students' knowledge and develop students' competence in searching, accessing and critically appraising information relating to medicines to make evidence-based decisions.

To provide an overview of the science of evidence-based medicine (EBM) and to understand the importance of classifying and evaluating the evidence that is used to inform their practice and clinical decision making.
