Synopsis: | Two design projects will introduce you to creative spatial and building design by focusing on timber as a material. You will learn about timber as a renewable resource, and its embodied energy. Basic timber construction methods are explained. You will develop visual communication techniques including freehand drawing and model-making to scale. Project 1 will establish the importance of collaboration by working in groups and with engineers. |
Content: | This Unit comprises two design projects. Project 1 is a joint project with engineers (formative), and Project 2 is an individual project (summative). |
