By the end of this unit, students will be able to:
Identify, examine, and appraise key TESOL-related issues;
Select and justify the focus, scope, and methodology of an educational project;
Review, employ, and engage critically with the literature in the fields of TESOL or applied linguistics;
Collect, analyse, and interpret data appropriately;
Draw appropriate conclusions from an educational project, taking into account its strengths and limitations;
Demonstrate self-direction and originality in planning and implementing tasks, in responding to changing demands, and in tackling and solving problems. |
Synopsis: | With support from your supervisor, you'll design, conduct and evaluate a small-scale educational project.
You'll investigate a specific issue in the field of TESOL, which may have a practical, theoretical, and/or empirical orientation. Throughout your project, you'll demonstrate and develop your understanding of the subject matter as well as your research knowledge and skills. |
