At the end of this unit, the student will/be able to:
1. Describe cell and tissue structure and the function of different body systems in the healthy state.
2. Explain, in physiological terms, the mechanisms underpinning a range of different disease symptoms.
3. Delineate the major molecular processes that lead to cellular repair or cell death. |
Synopsis: | "You will build on your knowledge of physiological processes to develop a detailed understanding of different body systems, including the liver, pancreas, kidney and lung.
You will explore the physiological mechanisms underlying diseases affecting these organ systems and how the healthy and disease states of the physiological system relate to each other. " |
Content: | 1. Physiology of major body systems e.g., liver, pancreas, lung and kidney will be examined in detail.
2. An introduction to healthy cell and tissue structure and function. |
