Bath University Press (BUP) was established in 1965. It made possible the publication of ground-breaking research papers, scholarly monographs and conference proceedings raising the new University’s profile and enhancing its academic credentials. The Press was also tasked with producing official University of Bath documents including prospectuses, annual reports and exam papers.

The total number of BUP publications is modest covering an eclectic range of subjects from underwater acoustics and methods for the design of hospital grounds to euphemisms and the history of Bath. The last BUP title was published in 2004.

The collection comprises material relating to the general management of Bath University Press, the administrative work associated with the production and sale of BUP publications, and copies of all BUP titles.

The collection was transferred to the University Archives by the University Librarian in April 2023.

Size: 3 boxes and 93 books.

A catalogue providing full details of the contents of the Bath University Collection is available in PDF format.
