Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement, review and monitor the University-wide Research Sabbatical Scheme
- Set the guidelines under which the Research Sabbatical Scheme will operate
- Set University-wide criteria and policy for sabbatical research leave application with due regard for matters of equality, diversity and inclusivity
- Advise the Deans and the Associate Deans (Research) on all matters relating to research leave
- Hold one call for applications per academic year, and award research sabbatical leave according to the criteria for the scheme
- Provide feedback to unsuccessful applicants
- Receive end of Research Sabbatical Leave reports from staff upon completion of the period of leave and provide feedback where appropriate
- Disseminate case studies about research sabbatical leave to encourage applications across the University
- Provide annual reports to Council
