One Young World Bath brings key issues and speakers from One Young World summits to our community through our annual forum.

The One Young World Bath (OYWB) forum returns, hosting a range of discussions with leaders looking to accelerate progress towards the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

By bringing together young like-minded people to exchange ideas and explore critical global challenges, we hope to empower young people to make a tangible impact on the world.

OYWB 2025 themes and confirmed speakers

The 2025 forum will host inspirational speakers* and interactive workshops related to the below themes. In addition to these sessions, you'll be able to enjoy a complimentary lunch and networking opportunities throughout the day.

The refugee crisis

Examining the challenges faced by displaced populations and ways to foster global solidarity.

  • Raj Burman (Keynote Speaker): Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs, Chair of the Board of Trustees at Student Action for Refugees.
  • Dr Katharina Lenner (Panellist): Lecturer in Social and Policy Science, University of Bath
  • Rossana Leal (Panellist): CEO, The Refugee Buddy Project Hastings, Rother & Wealden
  • Abdullah Rafiq (Panellist): Humanitarian, Security and Conflict Analyst and One Young World Ambassador
  • Rebecca Rowney (Session Chair): BSc (Hons) International Development with Economics student at University of Bath.

Violence against women and girls

Strategies to combat this pervasive issue and advance gender equality worldwide.

  • E-J Roodt (Keynote Speaker): CEO and Co-Founder of Epower - a personal safety app which is designed to protect women
  • Peter Clarke (Panellist): Passionate about creating sustainable changes, Business Development Manager at FearFree.

Artificial intelligence

Exploring AI’s transformative potential and addressing its implications for society and the planet.

  • Catriona Gray (Panellist): political sociologist specialising in AI ethics and governance, and Lecturer at the University of Bath.
  • Miles Pemberton (Session Chair): Computer Science PhD student at University of Bath and One Young World Ambassador.

Attend One Young World Bath 2025

Book your tickets One Young World Bath 2025 is free to attend. However, you will need to pay a £5 refundable deposit per person when booking your tickets. This will be refunded on attendance.

This event will be held in the School of Management building (10 East), on the University of Bath campus.
