Graduation reception information

Information about the graduation receptions taking place in January 2025.

Your reception is a chance to informally celebrate with your classmates, departmental staff and guests after your ceremony.

The receptions will be held in Bath Pavilion:

There is a Bath and North East Somerset Council operated short-stay car park at Bath Pavilion and another car park just across the road at Bath Cricket Club.

Reception schedule

Your reception takes place after your ceremony. Each reception will start an hour and 15 minutes after the start of the ceremony to allow time for you to walk between venues (11.15am, 1.45pm, 4.15pm).

Each reception will last an hour and a half.

A complimentary glass of prosecco and canapes will be served on arrival. The bar will also be open for you and your guests to purchase drinks.

Your department will hold speeches or award prizes approximately half way through the reception. If there's anything you need to know in advance they will get in touch with you directly.

A roving photographer will be present at the receptions. The photographs will be circulated afterwards for you to download free of charge. If you don't want to be included in photographs please let the photographer know.

Bringing guests to your reception

Each graduate plus two guests can attend the reception free of charge.

You can also bring two additional guests and they will be charged at £15 per person.

You are required to book for all attendees, free and paid, using the link sent out to you in November once ceremony tickets have been allocated..

Once you've booked, you will receive an email confirmation listing your tickets.  You will need to bring this email on the day, either in hard copy or on your phone, as it will be checked on entry to the reception.
