Removing old printers and Pharos Pop-up from your Mac computer 

Learn how to remove the old University Print Service printers, ‘UPS1’ and ‘UPS2’, and the Pharos Pop-up app, from your own Mac computer.

The old printers and Pharos Pop-up app will be automatically removed from University-owned computers.

Removing the printers

  1. From the desktop, select the ’Apple’ menu, then select ‘System Preferences’.  A screenshot of the Mac system preferences
  2. Select ‘Printers & Scanners’.  
  3. Select the printer to delete, then ‘Remove Printer’.   A screenshot of the printers window
  4. Confirm that you want to delete the printer by selecting ’Remove Printer’.  

Removing the Pharos Pop-up app

  1. From the desktop, select the ‘Go’ menu, then select ‘Computer’. A screenshot of the Mac Go menu

  3. Navigate to ‘Library’ then ‘Application Support’ then ‘Pharos’ then ‘Utilities’ and select ‘Uninstaller’. A screenshot showing the uninstaller application
  4. In the ‘Pharos Uninstaller’ window, tick ‘Pharos Pop-up’, then select ‘Continue. A screenshot showing the Pharos Popup uninstaller
  5. Select ‘Continue’ again. 
  6. When prompted, enter your username and password for your computer.  A screenshot showing the uninstaller password window
  7. When the uninstallation has completed, select ‘Done’.
