Setting up a personal Windows computer to use direct printers and plotters

Learn how to connect your personal Windows computer to the direct printers and plotters.

If you use a personal Windows computer, follow these instructions to print directly to a Sharp MX-C500P desktop printer or to print to a large format printer or plotter.

You need to install the printer client software, which installs the appropriate printer drivers on your computer, and the user client software, which you will use to select an account to pay for printing.

Make sure you connect to the eduroam Wi-Fi network or you connect to the VPN.

  2. Open the Downloads folder and double-click on ‘pc-print-deploy-client[smps3-pas.campus.bath.ac.uk].msi’ and continue to install. You may be asked to confirm that you accept that the program will make changes to your computer. A screenshot of the Windows downloads folder
