Principal Developer (HR)

This role is eligible for the DDaT New Starter Bonus* 

We are looking for a Principal Developer (HR & Finance Systems) to join our Digital, Data & Technology Group.

About the role

The role will be responsible for a wide-ranging technology stack including SaaS, PaaS, Commercial off the Shelf as well as in-house custom developed applications, the Principal Developer has the skills necessary to plan and manage all phases of work across the team, driving continual improvement, embedding good practices, processes and methods.

As a Principal Developer you will be responsible for effective operational IT Service Delivery within your area, ensuring services are managed in accordance with agreed service levels, standards and policies. Working with the DDaT Portfolio team the role will be responsible for the effective planning and delivery of the DDaT Projects Portfolio, ensuring alignment to the agreed organisational priorities and adherence to the agreed project delivery and assurance framework.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the teams within your area to ensure they have the resources and capabilities required and are working in collaboration with colleagues across the department to enable effective IT Service Delivery across operational services and projects. Liaising with senior stakeholders across the wider University and DDaT, being responsible for the Service Delivery, design, implementation and development of policies and processes within their functional area.

Working closely with your ‘Head of’ and in collaboration with the Business Engagement, Architecture and Portfolio Management functions, you will represent your technology area to play an integral part in shaping the strategic technology, IT Service Management and project delivery roadmaps for Platform and Applications.

There is a market supplement of up to £4,000 available at our discretion, based on skills and experience.

DDaT New Starter Bonus* In addition to the great benefits DDaT has to offer, you can benefit from a £2,000 New Starter Bonus. £1,000 is payable after you have successfully completed 1 years' service. The remaining £1,000 will be paid once you have successfully completed 2 years' service. 

Please note this bonus is only applicable to certain roles in DDaT and is specified on the relevant job adverts.  Bonus payments will be pro rata for part time roles.
