These terms and conditions represent an agreement between you and the University, should you decide to accept our offer of a place on Early International Welcome. It is your responsibility to read them and make sure you understand them. Please ask if anything is unclear.

Criteria

To accept our offer of a place on Early International Welcome, you must:

  • hold a firm offer of a place on one of our Undergraduate courses;
  • have an overseas fee status;
  • be 18 years old or over on 17th September 2024.

Confirmation of your place

Your place on Early International Welcome will only be confirmed if you book and pay by 1st August. You must comply, by the deadlines stated, with any requests for information and documentation or other processes related to ensuring you have valid immigration permission to study in the UK. On Welcome at the University, you must provide satisfactory evidence of your entitlement to study in the UK. If you fail to provide this, we reserve the right to withdraw your offer of a place on the Early International Welcome programme.

Delivery of the Early International Welcome programme

The University of Bath undertakes to make every reasonable effort to deliver the Early International Welcome programme in the manner outlined on our website, but reserves the right to make changes.

Registration

As part of the Early International Welcome programme you will register with the University of Bath as a student, and you will be required to agree to abide by the statutes, ordinances and regulations of the University of Bath.

Right to cancel

If you accept our offer of a place on Early International Welcome, you have the right to cancel your place before 1st September. If you cancel before 1st September, we will reimburse you in full. If possible, we will reimburse you within 14 days of receiving your cancellation. We will refund the money in the manner in which it was originally paid. You can still cancel your place after 1st September, but you may not receive a refund. We will not normally make any refunds unless you cancel your place before 1st September, fail to meet the conditions of your undergraduate course offer or fail to get a visa. We will consider refunding under other exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis, and documentary evidence will be required. If you do decide to cancel your place for the Early International Welcome programme at the University, you may not be able to change your mind again if there are no longer places available.

Use of your data

The University of Bath will process your student data in accordance with the principles set out in the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 18). This processing is necessary for the performance of the contract you are entering with the University of Bath in accordance with DPA 18 Schedule 9 (2)(a). The information provided in your application will be used to provide you with details of University services and support and communications from the Students’ Union. We will not pass your details to any other external third party in order for them to market products or services to you. We may, however, use third-party email management software to support our own internal communications systems. If your offer of a place is confirmed, your application data will be retained by the University of Bath, used for the purpose of processing your registration and added to your student record after you have registered.

General matters

No term of the agreement between you and the University of Bath is enforceable under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 by any person who is not a party to the agreement. The agreement between you and the University of Bath is governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
