Role
Andrea is responsible for:
Providing advice and engaging with researchers to ensure that appropriate research ethics standards are embedded
Supporting projects as required for governance, assurance, sponsorship, open research, training, etc
Maintaining the teams’ website
Andrea works part-time and distributes her working week from Tuesday through to Thursday.
Career
Andrea arrived in Bath in August 2023 to join the Research Governance and Compliance Team.
Andrea is also working remotely for the Medical Research Institute of New Zealand as their Quality and Project Manager where she plays a key role in the development, implementation and ongoing management of the quality system.
Prior to this she worked for Medsafe, the New Zealand regulatory body for medicines and medical devices, as a Senior Pharmacovigilance Advisor. Andrea was a member of the team leading the identification of medicine related safety issues, assessing their clinical significance and formulating regulatory recommendations for action. She was involved in internal audits and also developed and reviewed documentation (i.e. standard operating procedures, policies and guidance documents for staff and industry) for Medsafe’s quality system.
Education
Andrea holds a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from Staffordshire University.
