Career

I am a final year criminology student, I absolutely love criminology and hope to do a masters and maybe even a PhD in the subject. I find crime so interesting, from what causes crime to how we perceive and deal with it. It therefore comes as no surprise to those who know me that my dream job would be to lecture in criminology and publish my own criminological research. I wanted to become a student employability coach because I wanted work that felt meaningful. I didn’t just want a job alongside my studies, I wanted an opportunity to really help others. Indeed, my favourite part of being a Student Employability Coach is that feeling of satisfaction that comes with knowing I have helped someone to succeed.

Prior to becoming a Student Employability Coach I had a number of positions that involved working with people and supporting them to achieve. For example I tutored A-Level and GCSE students, helping them boost their knowledge and achieve higher grades. Before that I gained experience as a social media manager for a mental health professional and her business. In that position I would create content which would not only advertise her business but inform people about mental health and wellbeing.

I have a number of hobbies and interests. Most notably I love to do karaoke every week, which is hosted by a drag queen. I absolutely love drag and seeing different drag performers and performances. I also enjoy performing myself and am a member of the theatre society where I enjoy taking part in the weekly workshops.

Aside from all of my other work and activities I am also on the committee for the University of Bath LGBT+ diversity and support group as the transgender representative. In this position my main responsibility is running a support group for transgender, non-binary and gender non-conforming students. This is another position in my life that allows me to help others!
