Masterclass – Engaging local government

This Derby Impact Collaboration and Engagement (DICE) Network Masterclass will focus on how to engage local government with research that challenges current policy and practice. Taking place on Thursday 11 July (09:30-14:30), the event will begin with a keynote speech from Professor Brian Lamb OBE, followed by inputs from leading academics in the Public Services Theme at the University of Derby and an interactive workshop addressing how current policy and practice has and can be challenged.

Training opportunity – Policy engagement for linguists

Are you an early career researcher in the field of modern languages, and interested in engaging with the policy world? Two free webinars are taking place on Thursday 11th July 2024 (15:00-16:00) and Thursday 18th July 2024 (15:00-16:30, as part of an OPEN Leaders project run by Dr Charlotte Ryland at the University of Oxford, and supported by Oxford Policy Engagement Network. The training will cover why and how early career researchers should engage with policymakers.

Policy networking – Criminal and civil justice

Are you a researcher, policymaker or professional working in the field of criminal and civil justice on a local, regional, national or international level? A free online networking session on Wednesday 18 September (14:00-15:00) offers you the opportunity to expand your network and build new relationships.
