Teaching and Training
CDS is home to an exciting programme of teaching and professional
development on wellbeing in developing countries which draws on
the expertise of our academic staff and researchers.
MSc in Wellbeing and Human Development
This multi-disciplinary MSc has been developed to
reflect the increasing interest in wellbeing from academic and
policy circles in both developed and developing countries.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Drawing on its considerable expertise in wellbeing,
CDS has introduced three tailor-made CPD modules in wellbeing:
Wellbeing and Human Development: Concepts, Measurement and
Policy
This on-line CPD module is aimed at those who work
in the area of development and poverty reduction, in both developed
and developing country contexts, and at PhD students who are conducting
research in the area of wellbeing and human development. Held annually.

Wellbeing Assessment in Public Policy and Development
Practice
A one-week intensive course aimed at
international development, local government and community
work professionals, and those who want to reflect on wellbeing
and how it can be integrated into social and development
programmes and research. Held annually in late January/
early February.

Wellbeing Assessment Research Project
This CPD module is aimed at professionals who have
completed the Wellbeing Assessment CPD module above and involves
designing, carrying out and reporting on a piece of research
using wellbeing assessment, with support from a supervisor at
Bath.
