Members of our community will have seen the awful news that three people were killed and another three injured following a series of attacks in Nottingham early on Tuesday morning.

Those who died have been identified as two first year students at the University of Nottingham, Barnaby Webber and Grace O'Malley-Kumar, and Ian Coates, a caretaker who worked at the local Huntingdon Academy.

We offer our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of those who have died and to those who were injured. We are also thinking of colleagues at the University of Nottingham at this time, on this profound loss for their community.

We are not currently aware of anyone from our University community who has been directly affected, but please be aware of the support available if you have been affected by these events.
