Real-world impact and application

Applied research and teaching that addresses real-world challenges and makes a difference in society is of key importance to us. Our approach is ‘theoretically informed applied psychology’. 

Interdisciplinary approach

We place a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary work, with the integration of different disciplines and methods. We have interdisciplinary strengths in health and wellbeing, sustainability and digital(isation).

Inclusivity and Diversity

Diversity and the development of an inclusive academic community is one of our key values. We aim to ensure all students (undergraduate, postgraduate and post-doctoral researchers) and staff all feel a sense of belonging to the department. This is demonstrated by our Silver Athena SWAN award.
